Flocking Exercise
ROLES
Artificial Intelligence
In this flocking exercise, I programmed sliders as intuitive controls for parameters to control cohesion, separation, and alignment, intricately shaping the collective movement of entities within the simulation. This hands-on experience showcased my proficiency in AI programming and underscored my ability to implement complex behavioral algorithms in a dynamic and interactive environment.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The simulation harnesses the principles of separation, alignment, and cohesion to imbue individual objects with the collective behavior characteristic of a flock. Each object dynamically adjusts its movement based on its proximity to others, striving to maintain a safe distance (separation), aligning its trajectory with neighboring objects (alignment), and gravitating towards the center of the group (cohesion). These three behaviors can be toggled with sliders. This interplay of forces results in a mesmerizing display of synchronized motion, accurately mirroring the fluid dynamics observed in natural flocks. Through meticulous programming and algorithmic design, the simulation offers a captivating glimpse into the emergent complexities of group behavior.
